Due to a change in "stuff" the dream of buying a house - even just a cheap investment house in Macarthur - next year has basically gone away.
The way house prices are going now we will never afford to own, and I'll be in damn limbo forever.
It was basically next year or that's it. Well, it seems That's It.
Unless some very kind person at the wedding decides to gift us 20k or so (I know, you are rolling on the ground laughing too!) it is not going to happen.

Well I USED to say to people do what we did and go to Perth but that has become insane now as well. :o( Capitalism bites the big one.
I'll be sure to make a donation if we ever win the lotto. Affording a house 4 years ago was damn near impossible... we wouldn't have a snowball's chance in hell of being able to buy anything other than a dodgy fibro place in a dodgy suburb these days.

michelle... my comment about gifts was in jest - so save your lotto money and do up your kitchen :P
it does suck 'cause sydney is so much harder than anywhere else, and ally *needs* to be in driving distance of his customers should a server fall over for whatever reason... average house around here is $400 - $800 thousand for an actual house... (apartments are cheaper). it's just so hard..
our plan was to get an investment property, then after a while use the equity to get something in sydney... or whatever...
not happening now.
